Oops

So it's been awhile since I posted, something about being buzy? Oh well, been at Tyus over a month now!!! Wow how the time can fly. Got to preach the last sunday of March, and Sage and Bill came and led worship, it was awesome guys!! From that, wondering where our fight is? We must determine that before we can actually get in that fight. Just so you know, I'm trying to figure that out right along with you. Hope God puts that in front of us sooner rather than later, I'm ready! My challenge is that until He puts one in front of you, Get in the Word!! Prepare for Battle, I think we'll be amazed at how He will move thru studying His word!!

And away we go

Got started yesterday at Tyus, apparently took the snow with us, that was amazing how much and how quickly it built up. Things seemed to go pretty smoothly, apparently I'm like Justin in that I'm a smart aleck, I was told the transition from Justin to me in youth will be pretty smoooooth in that aspect. Anyway, get ready youth, it's time to go, it's time to stand up and state whom it is we believe in GOD and time to stop accepting our sin and the seperation from God that our sin is!!

Expecting big things

We studied tonight in small group about asking and expecting big things from God. We were in 1 Kings 18 where Elijah asks the Lord to show His might by lighting the offering of the bull to show that He was the one true God. Of course He does this, even after soaking the altar with so much water it fills the trench around the altar. What I want to say here is, we must start expecting God to do BIG things in our lives. Don't be afraid to ask it of Him, He'll do it!! I was forced to pass on something BIG He told me to a friend this weekend, so I must believe that what God told me was gonna happen will actually take place. Work God, Do what it is you are telling us you will do, Go ahead and show you are the one true God and make everyone see that is indeed true!!!!

Getting our hands dirty

One of the quotes in the men's retreat I went to this weekend was "In the past I always wanted to look like the knight, but I didn't or wasn't willing to get bloody like one" Who's been here? This is not a fun place to be, but I suspect that we have all been there at one time or another. I hope that I never go to this place again, but realize and acknowledge that I have been there.

This weekend was great, it was a time to simply be a man. I was in the company of 23 men who were able to be completely open and honest about pretty much any subject. We hung out, ate, laughed, cried, ate some more, prayed, listened to God, expelled gas (some more than others), talked, and did pretty much any guy thing we wanted. Hopefully we will remember to do this more often and encourage one another in winning back our hearts. Thanks Guys!!

Action

Today's verse reminds me of something that must remain important to all of us. We must do more than HOG the Word of God. We must carry it out!! Yes some verses are for us to meditate on and apply directly to our hearts, but there are some that tell us to Go and do things. Share the Word, Share the Word, and Share Your life, it can be your greatest testimony!!

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

The House

Started working on the house today, and being out there all by myself, I was humbled that God would provide for us what we need when we needed it. He knew what provisions we needed to be able to go to Tyus, and He gave them to us. Why do we ever doubt? I don't worry much, because I know and have seen that God is in control of our lives, that He indeed does have a plan, but for some reason I doubt that I hear from Him. Oh well, I guess I err on the side of caution instead of doubt Him, at least that is what I'll tell myself! What's really cool is that the verse of the day on this blog speaks to Him providing for us, and I didn't even read it until I got home tonight!

Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised. Job 1:21

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound

Just reflecting on that as I was riding home from class. How sweet does it sound to us that we get grace, even though we don't deserve anything? Does anyone else realize that the song says we were found. So often we hear people say oh he found Jesus, wrong, Jesus found us, He sought us remember, He came to earth as a man no less. What an amazing God we serve!
